The Simplex 4100-5102 XPS Expansion Power Supply is a versatile, high-performance module designed to provide additional power and signal distribution for Simplex 4100U and 4100ES Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs). This module is essential for expanding power and supporting up to 6 Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs) with the addition of the 4100-5115 Expansion NAC Module (XNAC).

Power Distribution: The XPS distributes both card power and signal power via the Power Distribution Interface (PDI). Signal power is available only in the bay where the XPS is located, with card power selection managed by jumpers P4 & P5 on the PDI.

NAC Capacity & Configuration: The XPS includes 3 NACs, each capable of delivering 3 Amps of power. These circuits can be expanded to 6 NACs using the 4100-5115 module. NACs are configurable for Class A or Class B wiring and are power-limited per UL 864 standards.

Flexible Power Options: The module supports both regulated 24 VDC circuits (with 4 Amps of current available across 3 circuits) and special application NACs (which provide the full 9 Amps capacity across all 3 circuits). Special applications can synchronize compatible appliances across the circuits.

Auxiliary Power: Each NAC can be configured as an auxiliary power point, providing 2 Amps, or function as a dedicated NAC with 3 Amps. Total load across NACs, auxiliary power, card power, and signal power must not exceed 9 Amps.

Monitoring & Fault Detection: The XPS features short-circuit and open-circuit monitoring for each NAC. If a short occurs, the affected NAC will be de-energized. A miswiring test can be initiated to identify shorted NACs.

Battery Backup & Earth Fault Detection: AC power and battery backup are provided via the PDM connection. The system detects earth faults on the XPS wiring, with a minimum detection resistance of 10k ohms.
