It uses Siemens ASAtechnology with forward and backward light scattering, along with thermal and CO sensing, to better distinguish real fire conditions from deceptive phenomena such as dust, steam, or cooking aerosols.

The OOHC941 occupies a single address on the signaling line circuit and supports multiple detection functions in one unit. Depending on system programming, it can be configured for simultaneous and/or independent fire, heat, and CO monitoring functions.
