Edwards SIGA-IM2 Intelligent Isolator Module

The Edwards SIGA-IM2 Intelligent Isolator Module protects Signature Series fire alarm circuits by automatically isolating short-circuit faults. Designed for seamless integration, the SIGA-IM2 detects line faults and opens the circuit segment between the nearest isolators, ensuring that unaffected devices continue to operate normally. Once the fault is cleared, the module automatically restores full circuit functionality.

This compact, intelligent device communicates digitally with the Signature loop controller and requires no mechanical addressing — its electronic signature is stored in nonvolatile memory for automatic device mapping. The onboard LED provides clear indication of fault status, and its design allows flexible mounting in standard one-gang, 4-inch square, or European 100 mm square electrical boxes.

Technical Highlights:

  • Automatic short-circuit isolation between Signature loop modules and sensors.

  • Supports up to 25 devices (modules or detectors) between isolators.

  • Low standby current: 45μA (nominal); active current: 230μA (nominal).

  • Operating voltage: 15.2 to 19.95 VDC from the Signature Data Circuit (SDC).

  • Operating environment: 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C); up to 93% RH, non-condensing.

  • Compact size: 4 1/2 x 2 3/4 x 1 1/4 inches (114 mm x 70 mm x 32 mm).

  • Listings and Approvals: UL, ULC, FM, MEA, and CSFM.

The SIGA-IM2 is ideal for protecting fire alarm circuits against wiring faults without disrupting system performance — a key component for maintaining high system reliability.
